Founded in 2024 as part of a solo vocal recording project, the ensemble brings together musicians united by a desire to explore and establish a delicate balance between words, sound and proportion: an ideal that evokes the golden ratio, the group’s symbolic emblem and source of inspiration.

 

The aim is to recreate and experiment with the musical practices characteristic of 17th-century academies, exploring the innovations of the era through constant creative dialogue and a philological yet lively and experimental approach.

 

The ensemble explores the Italian and European repertoires of the early 17th century, a period of profound stylistic transformation, highlighting the infinite tonal nuances offered by period instruments and adapting the ensemble’s instrumentation to suit the programme and acoustic space.

 

The Accademia degli Affetti’s approach combines a focus on sources with a contemporary sensitivity to musical colour and gesture, restoring to the audience the vitality and poetry of a constantly evolving language, capable of speaking with surprising relevance even today.

Through recording projects and concerts, the ensemble aims to bring rare works and forgotten masterpieces back to light, offering interpretations that combine rigour, creativity and sonic imagination.
